INTERVIEW WITH OUR SPONSOR:
Crito Galtier of The Grove Country Club Estates
Hello! Thank you so much for sponsoring the Home & Garden Expo and for your support of Relay For Life! Is there a particular reason you chose to sponsor this year?
A: To support a great cause!
Q: Have you been involved in other events with Relay For Life of Second Life? Have you been to a real world Relay?
A: The Grove has done a fundraiser in SL. I’ve not been to any in RL.
Q: Tell us what you’re bringing to The Expo this year. Especially about the items you created for Relay. Any other exclusive items you’re planning to release at the Expo?
A: The Grove is SL’s premier residential community. We created a snapshot at the Expo giving people a glimpse of our community as well as a beautiful place to rest. Make sure you see our memorial dedicated to those we have lost to cancer.
Q: When did you first arrive in Second Life and what brought you to Second Life?
A: I just celebrated my eighth anniversary here in SL. I originally joined to participate in the role play communities SL offered. For most of my early years I played a gladiator at some of the ancient Roman sims. I still take to the arena now and then and enjoy the thrill.
Q: Tell us about more about your SL business? For our readers who don’t know about The Grove.
A: The Grove Country Club Estates is SL’s premier residential community offering people a place to live that is dedicated to quality and uniqueness. Unlike any other community in SL, The Grove offers a wide range of venues for events like our live singers to places to get married or have parties. Spanning twelve manicured sims, The Grove is truly the most beautiful place to call home!
Q: Can you tell us a bit about how you’ve spent your Second Life, besides building an amazing residential community? Hobbies, interests.. things you’ve learned along the way ?
A: Aside from all the great friends and relationships I’ve made over the years, my passion in both RL and SL is music. I enjoy hearing the amazing talent SL has as well as making magic happen when they all come together to perform at The Grove. There is no greater joy for me than hearing two singers that I think would be great together and then making that happen.
Q: Are you also planning to set up a community in Sansar, at some point? Do you have long-term goals for your business in Second Life, too?
A: I’m not planning on setting up in Sansar yet. I’m having too much fun in the SL world. As for long term goals, I plan to continue delivering a rich and active community at The Grove for the foreseeable future. There’s SO much to do!
Q: Do you want to share a look at your life outside of SL with us? What do you or did you do for a living? Does your family support your SL aspirations?
A: I’m in the very exciting wireless industry in the technology project management field. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time in my 1913 historic home which I completely restored.
Q: Anything else you’d like us to know about you, or a special mentor, friends or someone who has really inspired your business?
A: I’d like to thank all the great residents of The Grove for making it so special. Above all, I want to thank my staff for creating it as well as helping to support me in the day-to-day operations. I could not do this all on my own and my team really excels at what they do and are as passionate about The Grove as I am. Go TEAM!
