Sunday 17th March: What’s happening today at the Home and Garden Expo?

The total raised now stands at 1,512,536 Lindens.

Today sees the second day of our programme of events at the Home and Garden Expo.

At the Main Theatre:

2pm SLT: Show and Tell
A chance for creators to bring in some of their latest (or most loved) creations, and show them off to fellow creators and Expo visitors. These Show and Tell sessions are always fun – and a way of showcasing some remarkable creations!

4pm SLT: Lantern Release Ceremony
Every day at 4pm, there will be a special lantern release ceremony from the roof of the Main Theatre at the Expo.
Sometimes people speak, but often the event takes place in comparative silence – a break from the busyness (and the business) of the Expo – a time to reflect, remember and mourn. Set your windlight to midnight and join us – or watch from afar.

5pm SLT: Chelsea Malibu
Chelsea is going to be talking about that immensely useful tool – AVSitter for Consumers

At the Music Theatre:
5-7pm: T1 Radio Time Machine with Trader Whiplash

Have you entered the Home and Gardening Decorating Competition yet? Entries close at the end of March 18th, so you still have time to get yours in!

And finally, have you visited the special preview of the new Linden Homes?

5pm SLT: Discussion: Have gachas had their day?

Join us for an open discussion of gachas. Is their popularity on the wane? Have the rumours of exploits discouraged people from playing? Are they a form of gambling or a way of obtaining pretty treats? Come and join the conversation!

There’s the daily Lantern Release (at 4pm SLT) – a quiet time to reflect and remember what this event is all about – raising fund for Relay for Life of Second Life – and supporting survivors and caregivers.

There’s a monorail to ride so that you can travel easily between regions. And Shop.

Calling All Designers! Join the Conversation at the Home and Garden Expo with Prim Perfect!

Prim Perfect and Designing Worlds have run talks at the Home and Garden Expo since (gulp) 2011 … and we’d like to invite YOU to be a part of this year’s series of talks with designers, landscapers and creatives within the Home and Garden market.

We’re planning to host events at 2pm (and, if needed, 5pm) every day. If you would really LOVE to give a presentation, but can’t make that time, contact us and we will see if we can fit you in.

We are happy to host talks, presentations, interviews, question and answer sessions and show and tell events. It’s an opportunity for designers to share ideas, for people to meet their favourite creators, for communities to come together and talk about their culture and ideas. We’re very open to hosting what YOU want to tell us about!

We are also planning to have some of our popular “Show and Tell” events and hopefully some panel discussions on Second Life.

If you would like to be a part of our programme at the Expo, please complete the form below with your topic and preferred dates and times. We will try to fit in as many people as we can!

Closing date: Tuesday March 12th.

We look at the Hunt (organised by the Meeroos and BeYou), the Breedables Fair, the Art Gallery andone of the great courtyard spaces that were prominent this year – this time for FIN. And we also talk to the designer SkyRider Varriale, who exhibited at the Expo this year, sponsored a region, and donated two houses to the popular Home Decoration competition.
